For quite awhile before the actual Christmas Day, it did not seem like the Christmas season to me. Even early on Christmas Eve, something seemed off. My mom, Brandon and I went to church Christmas Eve and then went to my grandparents' house after my dad returned from work. It was great over there. Everyone was really happy and we all got along wonderfully. Brandon and I seem to have nicer conversations and more to talk about now that I'm not always mad at him for playing his music loud enough to make my bedroom walls shake.

Christmas morning, we got up at 4:30 in the morning so that we could open Santa Claus presents as a family since my dad had to work. I'll admit, I was sort of in a daze, having just gone to sleep about two and a half hours earlier. It was nice being together and hanging out while opening awesome presents.

I then went back to sleep because it was so early.

When I woke up again, however, things were a little more exciting. There was ice falling from the sky. Now, this may be common in other areas, but the only stuff that usually falls from the sky here is rain, with the occasional bouts of hail. It was sleeting and raining freezing rain for most of the morning into the early afternoon.

We went to my other grandma's house for Christmas Day lunch, and as we were relaxing after that, it started snowing. Snow is not normal for New Orleans, so we all went outside to play in the snow/ice mix that was falling from our sky. There was a lot of ice in there, but a few hours later, it was all snow flurries. Snowing on Christmas Day made the day even more special, besides the fact my stupid spoilsport uncle kept insisting it was not going to snow and even when you could tell that there were flurries in there continued to say that there wasn't any snow. Dumbass.

Later last night Teresa and I travelled to Sandi's to exchange Christmas presents, play Donkey Konga and play Cranium Turbo. I think that we all liked our presents and had a great time. I also think that we all liked Cranium Turbo better than regular Cranium. It moves a little faster and is easier to make a comeback when you are far behind. Despite that, Sandi and I managed to lose twice to James and Teresa. We'll get them back one day, though. Oh, yes. We will.

My aunt and uncle and their six (6!) kids will be at my grandparents' house later this afternoon. I am sticking around to visit them, and hopefully by then, all of the bridges and roads will be not icy and open.

I hope that all of you had a great Christmas. I sure did.
