The past three weekends have given me no time to do what weekends are meant to be used for. Doing nothing! I did probably do my fair share of sleeping and zoning out in front of the television, but I consider a relaxing weekend one where I have no obligations or long trips to make. Two weekends ago there was a birthday party cookout game playing extravaganza at the park on Saturday and the Angola Prison Rodeo on Sunday. The weekend after that was Halloween. We didn't do anything really, but I did have to work on Saturday, so that wasn't too wonderful.

This past weekend was neat, but busy. Shawn and I went to the Louisiana Book Festival. The weather was beautiful. I got to give an online database demonstration on AncestryPlus. It's a genealogy database, and I don't use it all that much because I have little interest in genealogy. I think it's a very interesting subject and would love to see where my ancestors came from, but it just seems so tedious and has much potential to drive me insane. That said, if I got started, I'd probably love it. Point is, I rarely use that database but managed to pull off a coherent presentation with the script that was provided. Go me.

When we got back to Shawn's, I think we fell asleep, were bums for awhile and then rented one of the worst Gamecube games I've ever played. Ninja Turtles, you've let me down.

There were parts of those weekends where I did get to hang out, and the activities that I participated in were fun, but I'm just so lazy sometimes.

That's why I'll let Shawn sum up my feelings on that election. We never really discussed the specifics of the election, mostly because he often got angry when talking about Bush, but the amount that I agree with him is amazing. And I didn't even know it until he posted this. It surely helps that it's a wonderful read and easy on the eyes.

If it's anything like the old school Nintendo Ninja Turtles game, yeah, that is one of the suckiest games of all time. Right next to Johnny Flash or some crap my dad bought at the P/X once for $9.

the old school ninja turtles games was the shit, yo! It was HARD! Not like games today. Just hitting buttons gets you through the games.. they're just longer now. Much less challenging, though. I remember trying to blow up that stupid dam in Ninja Turtles for DAYS. And you couldn't save that shit, you had to either start over or leave it on pause. Man. How much longer do we have the turtles game? I still haven't played it. Cause I'm dumb.

I do genealogy in spurts ... it is interesting to find out where your people are from. I think the best part is learning little tidbits about my great-great grandmother, like how she swept the dirt floor of their cabin and liked to quilt and bake stuff ... my biggest fascination is in the people themselves and how they passed their time. :)
