Over a year ago, Mikey (I think it was Mikey) recommended that I read a Sarah Vowell book. I loved it. I then listened to another of her books on cd as I drove around town. She has the strangest voice, but it works so well with her subjects. On my way to work this morning, I heard that Sarah Vowell is going to be at NOCCA next week for an evening of readings with Eric Bogosian.

They're going to be there on a Tuesday night. This is usually bad for me because I work Tuesday nights. However, the air conditioning in the library is broken, so we are closing the library at 5:00 until it gets fixed. Will I end up attending this event? Probably not. Will I wish that I did? Probably.

Which book of hers did you read? Assassination Vacation looks interesting but I'm too lazy to go to the library to get it.

I read The Partly Cloudy Patriot and listened to Assassination Vacation. Really liked them both! Are you home for the summer? If so, there's no excuse for you not to go to the library and check them out. No excuses!

why would you not attend something that you want to go see? You're going. Just go. No excuses!

Umm, I liked them both, but start with the Partly Cloudy Patriot. I haven't read any of her earlier stuff. I should do that.

I just came here hoping to read an amusing story about how you and Shawn might have been evacuated from your house at 4 am so the ATF could see if a crazy murdering meth addict was hiding out there. That is all.

Nah, he just made me ten minutes late for work because the cops had Jefferson Highway blocked off. What a jerk!
