That's Layla's turtle up there. His name is Jose and he's awesome.

Shawn and I ate lunch with my family today. My mom sure can cook good food. While we were there, we talked about my grandma some. Her health is really declining, and declining fast. She came home from the hospital about a month ago, I guess, because the cancer had spread so much and her body couldn't take any more treatment. So she wanted to go home because it sure beats staying the hospital.

I visited her twice before Shawn and I went up north, and I have visited her once since I got back. She is just so much weaker and sleeps so much now compared to before. It's hard to understand what she's trying to tell you and it's sad watching her not be able to do the things that she loves to do (read, do crossword puzzles, talk to people) because her brain just isn't working right and her body is too weak.

We had a lot of good times together and those are what I try to remember when all I feel like doing is crying about it. Lung cancer can go to hell.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I know what that's like - I had one uncle get pancreatic cancer and another uncle get kidney cancer within a month of each other. It was sad to see their health decline. Hopefully your grandma will get better and recover.
