Shawn and I are taking off for a visit to Baltimore and New Jersey come Saturday, and it's well-timed. Between preparing yearly performance evaluations for my staff, showing one of them how to use a retractable Sharpie (please just press the button), having to interview for two positions because two people have resigned (one by leaving a NOTE on my desk saying that the previous day was his last day), not having stores and restaurants stay open much past 8:00 if you're lucky, and finding that someone crapped in a urinal in the men's bathroom (twice!), it's time to get out of town.

Other than that, things are cool. I'm reading more and looking forward to the holidays, especially decorating the house. Go-o-o Halloween decorations!
