Shawn and I bought our house on July 29th. That will be a month tomorrow. Tomorrow, a huge-ass hurricane will probably be very mean to it and everything around town. Man, it sucks in so many ways.
We evacuated to Lafayette to stay with Sandi (bff!) yesterday and after she left for Houston today we went to Crowley (rice capital of the world) to stay with my uncle and aunt and their six kids. My grandma, aunt and two more cousins just got here. It should be an interesting few days, weeks, months...

Lauren, Came across your blog by accident. Found it interesting. Are you going to post pictures of this evacuation? Glad you all got out and hope your new home will be OK when you get back. Good Luck from Arizona www.staffordscorner.com

Thanks, you guys. We should be able to get to our house Monday morning, but our area of Jefferson seems to have been spared. We'll know more then. It's good to know that so many people, from all over the country, are thinking of us.
