I went to Alexandria Monday afternoon for a preconference workshop through the Louisiana Library Association. The workshop was "Supervision Made Simple: Remember, Simple Doesn't Mean Easy." It was good.
I listened to David Sedaris on my drive. It was the Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim audiobook. In it was the story about him wanting to touch people's heads, which I remembered hearing sometime before. Sara Jensen, was that you?
Oooh, I also got to stop in Lafayette last night and eat sushi with Sandi and her guy. That was a great thing!
I've been hearing a lot about this rapper, Fifth Ward Weebie, because he's accused of murdering someone. One of the newspapers that come to the library has taken to calling him "Fifth Ward Webbie." Who proofreads this stuff? The dude is Weebie, not Webbie! It's quite interesting to hear news anchors say his name.
Mikey's going to start a magazine and I get to help!

Volleyball...ends? Lost is so good and we do need to talk. Mikey promises me that he's going to give me his vision for the magazine (not a 'zine'!) so I can post it here.

It was you Jensen. I remember. I remember because David Sedaris is one of the most overrated writers out there, and I'm tired of people talking about him. I hope it's a magazine about puppies. I love them.

I don't like David Sedaris's fiction so much, and it worries me that pretty soon he's going to run out of real-life stuff to write about. But screw you, Shawn, god, why have I been apologizing to you all day today?

Because you often disagree with me, and I'm always right.

I saw David Sedaris the other night -- he was quite disappointing in person. He only spent about 20 minutes reading a couple stories, 15 minutes answering weird questions from the audience, and then about 45 minutes hawking his new book. I dunno, I love his writing ... but in the flesh, he kinda sucks.
