About Me

My name is Lauren, if you couldn't tell. I am in my mid-twenties, graduated from college a few years ago and am currently going for my Master of Library and Information Science degree by taking distance courses in New Orleans.

I also work full-time at a library where I get to spend most of my day with a very eclectic group of people. I've learned a lot from working there, and most of what I've learned hasn't been about libraries. You learn a lot about yourself by how you react to people who decide that it's a good idea to yell at you because they have 26¢ in fines that they don't think they should have.

I mostly keep to myself and am slightly obsessive-complusive. I'd rather do things by myself than give them to others because I like things to be done the best they can, and I have trouble trusting most other people to do them correctly. I hate loud, obnoxious people, but I secretly wish that I could be a little more like them. I think that I'm pretty easy to get along with and everyone should love me.

I bought a house with my boyfriend last summer. Although it was an extremely scary thing to do, I'm glad that we did it. Besides the load of money that we had to put down and the money that we have to give away every month, having a house of your own is probably one of the best things ever.

I like guacamole, turtles and my kitties. I hate celery, coconut, cilantro and MySpace.

About the Design

The design for this site came from a template found on the Open Source Web Design Web site. This template was coded by dreamLogic and is named Red King. I tweaked the colors and the pictures because I really just liked this design. From what I've seen, the templates on this site are attractive and quite easy to use.

And of course, Shawn helped a bunch. And I thank Pedram for giving me the space for this web site.

Oh, and it does look better in Firefox than Internet Explorer.
